Hand held vibration

Maybe an option to use as an instant vibration probe, I want to use just the Y axis and hold my iPhone against, gearboxes etc and get an instant digital number read out in mm/s peak to peak.

Thanks

Vibration Probe

Sorry I did not respond sooner, I have been traveling.

That is an interesting idea. I have tried converting the acceleration directly to mm/s without much luck. The problem is that there is a significant offset on each channel so integrating to get velocity does not work unless you use a high pass filter on the acceleration data. Can you tell me what frequencies you are interested in monitoring? If the frequencies lower than this value are filtered then such a probe might be possible.
